Question: How did y’all meet?
He was my pastor for years before we got married.
He started going through a separation/divorce in November, 2015 and we eloped in October of 2017 only 3 weeks after an engagement that came only a couple of months after dating. When you are our age, there’s no sense of waiting when you know that you know its meant to be!
He has 3 and I have none.
We originally said we wanted 2 years together before having children. Last year around this time we said we would wait one more year. We just didn’t feel it was the right time.
It can be a challenge for obvious reasons. However, totally worth it, because family is always worth fighting for! It takes a few years adjusting to a new way of life, but once you build that trust rooted in love it can be a beautiful thing.
We do our individual studies, but will share with each other what we are studying and hearing from the Lord.
We believe its a day to day exercise. Keep the fire burning by fanning the flames daily! You can do that by knowing and speaking your spouse’s love language. I recommend reading The Five Love Languages.
13 years difference, but it doesn’t feel like it! Its as if 10 years has been shaved off of his life.
To have a relationship with Jesus. I couldn’t imagine having a healthy relationship with my husband without first having a relationship with God. Why? Because He convicts me when I’m wrong and when I get my heart right with the Lord, He works out what needs to be between my husband and I.
I would say be patient in the adjustment period. When you start a new life together, its a new way of living for you both. You must allow grace in that time… for yourself and for one another.
Honestly, it feels like a normal life because we both have such a love for God and people.
Dealing with people’s perception of what they THINK a Pastor’s wife should be. I am just me and won’t change who I am just because I married a Pastor.
No, not for a moment! I would never try to replace Kelbee’s Mom, but I will always love her like she’s my own.
We always go back to the Word (Bible). Whoever is closest to what the Word says, wins. Ha!
We LOVE to binge watch shows and go to the movies. Its relaxing and a great way to rewind from the day with one another.
Let's be real... life can be complicated. How about we do it together and have fun along the way as we find the happy in our every day?!
