Now more than ever people are dealing with anxiety and fear. Thankfully, as the people of God, we have the answer for that. The Word of God will always have a word for our situation. No matter what we are dealing with the Word will always work if we work it. How do we do that? How do we “work” the Word of God?
When I am dealing with something in my life, I find scriptures regarding that situation. Nowadays, this is as simple as googling scriptures on the subject. I then look them up in my Bible, read them, write them down, pray them aloud and declare them over my life. It helps to get an index card to write them on and put it somewhere I will see everyday. It use to be the dashboard of my car (back when we weren’t quarantined to the house). The bathroom is a great place as well.
If you find yourself being pulled towards anxiety during these times of uncertainty, I have some scriptures to help get you through.
(Philippians 4:6) Be anxious for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be known to God.
There’s that word again… Thanksgiving. Prayer and thanksgiving help us to overcome anxiety because it shifts our mind off of our surroundings and onto God.
(Isaiah 26:3) You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed upon You, because he trusts in you.
When we are tempted to give into fear or anxiety, we need to lean into God and shift our minds back upon Him. When we begin to think on Him and His Word, He will bring a peace to us. We may have to say, “God this is happening, but I trust in You. You have been faithful and You are my Helper.” Simple acts of pulling our minds back toward Christ is how we will walk in that perfect peace.
(2 Corinthians 10:5) casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Let’s be honest, we all get thoughts that are not healthy at times. The key is to take those thoughts captive when they come. How do we do that? By speaking the opposite the exact moment it comes. We recognize it is not from the Lord and think on things that we know are.
Comment and let me know what your go to scripture is when dealing with fear and anxiety.
Let's be real... life can be complicated. How about we do it together and have fun along the way as we find the happy in our every day?!
Thank you Charlotte????????????

Thank you for being here and supporting me!
All of these scriptures are great! I just keep coming back to the famous scripture on fear: “God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
2 Timothy 1:7
Yes, that is a good one for sure. Thanks for sharing, Leah!
Hey Charlotte~
Thank you sooooo much for your inspiring message this morning and filling our hearts and minds with nuggets of truth from the Bible. Even though life has been so different these past few weeks, I can honestly say that my walk with the Lord has never been stronger. I find myself clinging to the promises in His Word, more so than I ever have. He is in control. A dear friend reminded me this morning that “Isolation becomes restoration.” Amen to that.
Blessings for a great day!
Deb 🙂
Wow Deb, I love hearing that. Thanks so much for sharing!
2nd Chronicles 20:12, from King Jehoshaphat’s prayer: “O God our God, will you not judge them? For we are powerless against this great multitude which is coming against us. We do not know what to do, but our eyes are on you.” Love that last part…it’s a simple prayer we can pray whenever we are anxious, to confess to God our weakness, but acknowledge to Him that our eyes are on Him even in our fear and trembling!
That is a great scripture! Thanks for sharing!
Definitely a great blog during a very needed time! Thank you for sharing! Praying for y’all! ❤️????
Thanks so much, Pam. That means a lot!
Charlotte, I live alone and I’m working from home. It’s been very lonely, I’ve been here for 3 weeks on Friday. I can’t see my kids and grandkids because one of the spouses are still working outside of home. Thank you for the scripture verses for today. It’s so easy to let your mind go. I’m trying to stop my thoughts, like you suggested as soon as they come to my mind and give them to the Lord. Thanks so much for doing this everyday. I thank the Lord for you and your ministry and how loving and kind you always are and that you care. Keep it up. Love your friend, B.
